From Szeleta-roof: Lillafüred was built at the junction of Szinva and Garadna

Anna Sinter Cave

If you travel to Lillafüred (Bükk National Park) you should take a walk in the Anna Sinter Cave. It is a very unique cave around in Europe. The white heat delivered by the Szinva stream before thousands of years created unique sinter  formations. You can see petrified leaves, spears, branches and moss curtains covered by sinter. Most of the smaller holes are come into being when the large trunks rotted in the rock.

The cave entrance is located at the hanging garden at the Palota Hotel, next to waterfall.

Diósgyőr Castle is a medieval castle in the historic city of Diósgyőr, which today is a part of Miskolc

Situated in a beautiful natural environment, the Castle of Diósgyőr as one of the most prestigious Hungarian monuments can be found at the foot of the Bükk Mountains, just 8 kilometres from the centre of Miskolc. The first person to commemorate the fortress, also known as the medieval castle of knights, was Anonymus. The reign of Louis the Great (14thcentury) can be seen as the golden age of the castle. From his reign until 1526, the castle was an engagement gift to six different queens – this is where the name "Castle of Queens" came from.

1000 years of the Hungarian and universal iron works

The National Metallurgy Museum is operated by the National Polytechnic Museum Institution in the Szinva Valley in the Bükk Hills. The institution is located in an old industrial building with long history.

The objective of the museum is to introduce the past of metallurgy, to save objects and documents related to an industry that played such an important part in the development of human civilization.

The first permanent exhibition was held in 1960 in the quest house of the iron factory of Diósgyőr. Due to the enthusiastic collecting work, the building proved small soon so a new location has to be found for the showing. The new permanent exhibition opened in 1970 in an originally Baroque house in 1770 under the management of Fazola Henrik.

The medieval building of Sárospatak Castle or Rákóczi Castle was built by King Endre I.

The Rákóczi Castle is one of the best-known castles in Hungary, one of the finest works of the late Renaissance. It was built after the Battle of Mohács in the 1530s, first with the Red Tower, and later with the wings of the residential palace. In the early 1600s György Rákóczi was the landowner of the estate, and during his time the castle entered its golden age. The construction was carried out in Renaissance style in line with the fashion of the time, including the Lorántffy Loggia. The fortress was not affected by the Turkish campaign, but by the 17th century Kuruc movements. The building was then taken over by the Austrians and turned into a comfortable aristocratic palace. The Sárospatak Castle was completely renovated in the 1960s.

The Tokaj Wine Region or Tokaj-Hegyalja Wine Region has been the world's first closed wine region since 1737.

It is located in the northeastern part of Hungary at the southeastern foothills of the Zemplén Mountains. It covers an area of 6202 hectares.
In 2002, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee added it as a cultural site to the World Heritage List of the Tokaj-Hegyalja Historical Wine Region.
The symbol of the wine region and one of its centers is the city of Tokaj, which has become a symbol of the whole of Hungary due to its world-famous reputation.
The city has been preserved for centuries as an oenological tradition, a special architectural heritage and local traditions.
